Why Choose Cedar Gable Vents?

If you are considering adding gable vents to your home, you basically have to choose between vinyl vents or wooden vents. Vinyl is definitely cheaper, but let me tell you, it looks that way. It also does not hold up to severe weather very well. In fact, it will be more expensive over time to purchase vinyl gable vents because you will have to keep replacing them. And don’t forget about the additional purchase and installation time. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times; it’s always more cost-effective in the long run to purchase a more expensive, higher quality product.

I would recommend that you purchase a null vent. These gable vents have incredible longevity, and are resistant to warping. They can survive the harshest, most frigid of winters and the most disgusting, humid of summers without damage. They also are the best gable vent available at repelling insects and avoiding rot. Not to mention, cedar is one of the most attractive, easily stainable woods on the market. Adding a cedar wood gable vent or two to your home will add a (completely functional) charm to your home, and will ultimately save you money over the cheaper, less attractive vinyl gable vents.

How to Choose the Right Shape for Your Dining Table

When it comes to purchasing a dining table, there are many different choices you have to make. First, there’s how big you want your table to be. Then, you have to choose what kind of wood and finish you want. And then, after all that, there are still a plethora of options when it comes to the shape of your table. I wrote up a quick guide to help you decide what shape will work best for your dining room.

Round Dining Table:
• This table is the most space-efficient shape on the market, so if you have a smaller dining room, this is a good choice.
• This is the least formal shape, as it doesn’t create a “head of the table.”
• Also, this shape is the most conducive to socializing, as everyone is facing each other.
Square Dining Table:
• A square table is slightly more formal than a round table.
• However, it also takes up more space.
• It does not create a “head of the table” either.
Oval Dining Table:
• This shape is more formal that round or square tables because it creates a “head of the table.”
• It works best in large or long and narrow dining rooms.
• The rounded edges make it easier to cram more people around the table at big family gatherings.
Rectangular Dining Table:
• This shape is very similar to the oval table, except that it is slightly more formal because of the sharp edges.
• It also takes up the most space. So if you have a large dining room, I would recommend a rectangular dining table for proportion’s sake.
